             she had to keep telling herself that peeta was saying that stuf f because  the               capitol was making him. that wasn’t peeta on the screen but a capitol  daring               ;  he  would  never betray her. he would never choose the capitol. he should               voice  behind her call out her katniss but she  couldn’t  see  anyone.  all  she               could  see  was him. she heard gale yelling at her to stop, to come back but              there was only one person's voice she wanted  to  hear  right  now  the  only              person  she  want  to  see.  benjiman.  he  was  the  only  person  who knew              exactly what to do by doing nothing. he wasn't hard to find,  he  was  always              relatively  in  the  same place. she stood at the door frame, her eyes swelled              with unfallen tears and as she tried to speak her voice shook.

Eyelashes slap against his cheeks as he comes to, and he doesn't know what's going  on.  He  just  knows  that he's buried underground. The man pushes his way  out, eyes wide, and when he stumbles upon an oddly dressed individual, he just stares.

Unlike most girls she knew, Kate had never taken much of an interest in the clock permanently etched into her wrist. It wasn’t so much that she didn’t care, but that she had a life she wanted to actually live instead of one spent obsessing about when her timer would stop. While other people were waiting for that life changing ping, she was booking tickets to far off places and searching for adventure.

One said trip brought her to Cairo, a graduation present she had managed to convince her father to give her. What was better was that she was flying solo on this trip, with no one but herself to call the shots. 

Being Kate, she wasn’t much for following the flock, which is why she found herself separating from the tour group she was accompanying in favor of exploring the Egyptian streets on her own. This was all good, until she got lost and wandered into a more secluded section of the city she was in. She wasn’t afraid, or at least she wouldn’t show it, but she was definitely on her toes, and she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being watched.

A sudden, loud beeping sent her attention flying. Her heart was thumping in her chest, pumping adrenaline through her veins as she tried to figure out what was happening. She realized it was her clock, but what she couldn’t understand was why it was beeping at a time when she was alone.

A shadow coming into the edges of her vision caught her attention, and Kate found herself peering into an incredible pair of eyes. All at once, she was captivated, speechless, and totally frozen in place.
