he always got so uncertain when she met with these strange folk. positioned behind her legs, his courage so limited ( and his curiosity so limitLESS ), in that it allowed only his head to peek out, he wondered as to how she could approach them so fearlessly, and with such grace and pleasantness. they would glance down at him -- reactions mixed... sometimes of adoration, sometimes of clear confusion as to why he, a CHILD, was there -- and, in turn, he would shift to hide himself behind her in full, waiting for the conversation to carry on, or for mipha to request that he return to their father’s side, before emerging again.
this human was gentler than the other’s, though. when first they met gazes, she shined him a smile so soft, so genuine, that he wondered if it, truly, was meant for him. it wasn’t enough to urge him from his favored hiding spot, but it DID get him verbal, if only briefly.
