Mini Headcanon to S2E9
It’s the glare from Sara that finally makes Ray sigh and step to the dining area. As expected, Mick’s half sitting at the table with his feet propped up, beer in gloved hands and glaring at nothing in particular.
“Did you get lost, Haircut?” He drawls without looking at Ray, and Ray winces. It’s some time since Mick sounded… cold. It’s Ray’s fault and that makes him feel even worse.
“No. This is exactly where I want to be.” Ray smiles. The smile freezes on his face though, when Mick scoffs and takes another gulp of his beer.
“Could’ve fooled me.”
“I’m sorry.” Ray whispers. “I wasn’t really around as much as I wante- should be.” It’s even worse that it took Mick getting Stein to help him for Ray to realize just how much he messed up. Just how much the two of them were drifting away from each other. But there was just so much happening, the aberrations, losing Rip, Nate and Amaya joining the team… And Ray had to admit that he did enjoy Nate’s attention. He did enjoy having a little brother with whom he could actually get along. But somewhere on the way his ignorance and selfishness hurt Mick. Because Ray pulled away from Rip, turned his back on the man even though he promised he wouldn’t leave him. He promised that over and over again and in the end he broke that promise.
Perhaps it wouldn’t even be that important, if it was anyone else but Mick. But with Mick being afraid of people leaving, even though he’d never say it out loud, this was a terrible mistake.
“Amaya told me what you said to her.” He continues when Mick doesn’t pay attention to him, “About Snart. About her.” About being Mick’s only friend. Ray doesn’t know what he is, anymore. At one point he would be optimistic enough to think that Mick didn’t mention being his friend, because Ray isn’t a friend to him – he knows Mick’s not one to Ray at least, he is so much more, but Mick’s not as sentimental as Ray is. Mick doesn’t care about feelings all that much, and up until just now, Ray thought that maybe he was alone in this whole emotional mess.
“I’m sorry.” Ray repeats, because what else can he say? It is his fault that he jumped at the idea of being anyone’s hero. Of having people look up to him, of trying to help them. Amaya and Nate didn’t need the movie nights, Nate didn’t need a babysitter, or a patron … but Mick needed someone to be there for him. Ray failed the most important person in his life right now. Ray takes a deep breath, and can feel his whole soul shaking. This is it.
“If… if you want to break it up then-“
The bottle hits the table with a loud thud, then Mick’s standing and glaring daggers at Ray.
“Do the four PHDs that you have make you stupid? Who said anything about breaking up, Haircut?” He’s growling and Ray can feel his heart skip a beat. Then another and another, and before he knows what he’s doing, he’s on the other side of the room, his hands on Mick’s head and Ray’s kissing him like there’s not tomorrow.
There might not even be. But Ray is content in the moment right now.
He can feel Mick’s arms coming to rest on his waist, his fingers clutching at Ray’s back, while he’s doing his best to burn the memory of his lips on Ray’s into Ray’s mind.
When they finally pull back after a small eternity, Ray blinks.
“So… are we still not telling the team that you know the difference between a physicist, psychologist and brain surgeon?” He asks teasingly, just to have Mick rolls his eyes at him and kiss him again to shut him up.
Ray’s not complaining.
WaveAtom Headcanon Soulmate!AU
@2angelsmommy Do you think you could possibly do a soulmate AU? Like the one where your soulmates name appears on your body when you turn 16. Mick gets his but its covered by his scars so he doesn’t know that its Ray until he gets on the Waverider and they touch and it flares up. Then Ray is like ‘Oh, there you are.’
(ok, so from what I understand we have to change the CW canon just a bit, but well… who says we can’t :) )
(read as whole, link for mobile users)
Before the fire, Mick hears a lot about the mark. He hears that it can point you towards the person that you’re meant to be with. He hears that a lot of time people don’t even meet their soulmate. He hears that sometimes the soulmate thing doesn’t work out.
He sees that non soulmate bonds don’t work out always either. He wonders if the arguments that his parents have would be different if there was a soul bond between them. He wonders if there would be less slaps his mother would have to go through. He wonders if there would be less broken dishes.
It doesn’t really matter, it doesn’t really change anything.
LoT 1x16 wasn’t as bad as I feared it would be... Nice cliffhanger-y ending, though^^ Also having lots of WaveAtom feels for next season =) Let the ship rise!!!
Atomwave and Coldflash or it could end up as Coldflashwaveatom. IDC
I forgot atomwave was a thing so here’s a prompt. Barry and Ray bonding

Madmen Who Remember, Madmen Who Forget
"You...can't bring people back from the dead can you?" he asked.
"No Mr Palmer, however...." Gideon paused.
"However..."
"This ship does possess a small holo room, and I have access to large banks of information about many timelines. Given a name and an era, it is very likely I would be able to create a basic version of somebody currently dead to you."
Ray uses the holo room to recreate memories of his time with Anna. Mick just uses it to burn stuff.
