"Facebook has a heavy meeting culture–at least I know it does on my team–so I try to protect my calendar as much as I can. I will put in blocks of time so that people can’t block me out. If something is important they’ll reach out via email or messenger and I’ll open up a time. I found that helps me stay focused on the things I think I should be focused on. The writing is on the wall

I was visiting a software company today. Like most companies, they communicated face-to-face, through email, text messaging, etc. Notes were also written on whiteboards.

The employees took the whiteboard concept one step forward. They wrote on the walls and there was some writing on the windows. Dry markers were used so nothing was defaced. (None of the information was confidential.)

It made sense to me. The walls and windows offered plenty of space and the information was easy to read. 

This method falls right in with my Virtual Kindergarten project and philosophy. I love it.
