Elena had been trudging along the road for the past few hours. However, finding a new car seemed impossible as those she ventured across were bled dry. Still, she carried on. It wasn’t like she had a choice. The young brunette was grateful after scavenging a few supplies along the way; cans, bottles and even a crumpled map which was hopefully leading her to somewhere where she could rest. If there’s one thing many survivors lacked, it was hope, not that Elena had much of that left. Why would she? The last and only group she dwelled with hadn’t been the most welcoming to newcomers.
If she was correct, a few more kilometres and there would small village. Not many people equalled not many walkers. Survivor logic. Elena unfolded the map to check her progress when the motor of a car engine purred through the silence. Instantly, her head turned to see a vehicle in the distance. Hiding wasn’t an option, but the blade by her side was more than enough protection for someone that knew how to use it. Through narrowed eyes she didn’t recognize the man as he drove closer. It was worth a shot. Her hand extended to signify list, calling out.
“Hey! You’re not an ass by any chance, are you?”
