waywardtendencies reblogged your post “Meme: ‘a moment of weakness’”
Cas may have been more prepared for the sudden appearance of his twin if his grace hadn’t been restricted as it was. He would have been able to sense another of his brothers (or…versions of himself) approaching. In the state he was though, he could barely summon up the surprise he may have otherwise felt. Unfortunately, he knew this wasn’t his timeline. As soon as he’d figured that out the possibility of meeting his alternative double rose exponentially.
….He just hadn’t thought that would really happen. After all it hadn’t so far, and he’d been living out of his own realm for at least a decade, possibly more. (Time was fluid, and difficult to keep track of after…..just after.)
Perhaps it was lucky he was so worn out, he would have used up his remaining energy trying to discern the possibilities. As it was he simply watched the other with a weary expression. Demonic captivity wasn’t a luxury experience. “In comparison to what?” He rasped. He was well in some ways, not as much in others. One should strive for honesty in all things, that was what he’d been taught.
The weary expression is to be expected, given the experiences anyone under captivity might face. Still, he’s quite curious of the other’s own past. He’d been to that point of weakness and back, so it wasn’t so much that the weak grace surprised him as much as the other’s lack of...energy? There’s no defiance or edge that would indicate the other wouldn’t willingly give in were they in a fight. Or perhaps he didn’t expect it from one that was like him. Who knew?
“In comparison to whatever may have come before. Or are you suggesting you’re fine as you are?” The question wasn’t meant to be answered, the angel already trying to work the cuffs open with the key he’d found on a nearby table. For demons, they hadn’t been very careful around his double, and he wondered if it was to do with the other’s weakened state.
“I want to know how you came to be here”, he clarifies, finally managing to free his double’s wrists. He glances over the other curiously, seeing if he needed to heal anything.
