「 Ask Me Anything. 」 ⇢ MGA Season 5 audition process 3 out of 5 ⇢ In which Choi Yuzu refuses to be a mini Song Jieun
“ Oh no no no. That’s not it at all. ”
Before she can skip off back to the waiting room a staff has to practically catch her for the girl to slow down and be told her next instructions. "Oh-oh! I'm so sorry, yes please lead the way, I'll follow," she apologizes with a chuckle, bowing three times before trotting behind the staff with a mischievous grin on her lips. The school looks normal as it is but Yena still takes her time to look around. After all she never went to a performing arts school, be it high school or university. Maybe she'll consider going to university but with her money well invested and her income from her streams still a steady stream of good cash, she really can't complain much.
Her sponsors may be very well rethink on sponsoring her when she stops streaming every day but she isn't too bothered by it. Even without them her income is still okay and if anything she can fall back to her savings and keep stocking up her money from investments: Minsoo oppa truly was a genius when it came to finances.
With her fingers laced behind her she hums the song she just performed under her breath and sits still and pretty while they apply some basic make up for her. None of them really know what's coming to them but Yena is prepared for whatever they toss at her. So when she's lead to an interview room her eyes sparkle just a bit because this is exactly a place where she can shine best. Words had always and will always be her tool to show people her charms.
"Good day~" With a bow she enters and takes a seat when told to do so. Her fingers lace on top of the table together as she blinks her eyes in anticipation, her confidence and eagerness maybe taking the interviewers aback just a tiny bit.
"So your name is Choi Yena and you're currently 19 years old, correct?"
"Yes, that's correct."
"You listed a lot of musical influences and artists you admirer from various countries. Why is that?"
"Ah you see- there are so many great musicians out there, it was really hard for me to narrow them down. Further more I went to primary school in Japan and middle school in Canada so I received a lot of cultural input from both industries as I was growing up and came to love them just the same as Korean music."
"I see. What makes you strive to an idol in this country then?"
"I'm a person that loves new challenges. I only recently considered making the music industry my new home in regards to a future career but I really would love to give it a try. I'm a gaming streamer right now but I'm not famous in Asia at all. I learned what it's like to make people smile with what you do and be an inspiration and a person to brighten someone's day. If me and my silly antics could make the people of Asia smile as well, that'd be nice!"
"And it has nothing to do with Song Jieun being your cousin? You put down your dream company as the one she left without making a debut. Are you here to redeem that?"
Her eyes widen at that and she shakes her head quickly. "Oh, no no no, not at all! I was actually really hesitant to place her name on the form but she's been a great support to me, letting me stay at her place until I'm ready to live by myself and helping me to be at ease in Seoul that I felt it rude and disrespectful of me to not include her. I want to state this very clearly though that I refuse to be compared to her. Me and her are completely different people and while I admirer her as an artist and as a person, our strengths and weaknesses are completely different. I'd like to be seen as my own individual person. I chose Royal because I love LUXE's music and know a good bunch of the trainees currently training there. I think the image and the music are both things that fit to me as an artist and what I'm looking for to be as an idol. That's why I chose Royal. Jieun eonni had nothing to do with my decision at all."
"Well then you listed some unique talents here... How about you show us one of them?"
