the following is not just me bitching i would actually really love some input:
how do i do WCMX. how do i do it. i used to skate but now my arms/abs are so weak so i don’t think i could do anything in my chair besides like slowly roll around the skatepark which would also be very fun and cool but.
i want to skate again i cry so much it was (is) a pivotal part of my personality and the idea that i can do it in a wheelchair is so hopeful
but idk what’s wrong with my body and idk how to get strong again or if it’s even safe to workout like sometimes just reaching high up for a cup and then pouring water fully winds me and i can’t move for a while afterwards (and am grateful for when i can even do that)
atm i have a hospital transport chair that was crowdsourced and i’m going to get a custom one (not WCMX, for daily use) but it’s all going to be based on research and crip knowledge bc i have no doctors. so im hoping that wheeling around won’t take so much out of me and that using a custom chair will be a lot easier (point being that i hope my chair alone doesn’t wind me so much and it’s just bc this one is heavy and my arms are at the wrong angle etc)
i know i need a PT i have not seen a doctor in nearly a decade and no doctor is aware of what’s been happening to my body listen im working on it im very underinsured right now im just really going off of collective knowledge and doing what i can with what i have
also i know there are specific chairs for this but that’s not happening anytime soon
