I don't always check the stats of my edits but lately I checked and I saw numbers that reinforces this theory:
On the "10 years of jikook" edit (with around 50k unique watchers in total so far), the majority of watchers are 45+. The average watcher is a woman from Japan who is between 55 and 65. And we still have 22% (third age group with most watchers) who is 65+.
Isn't this wild?????
I compared with my most watched jikook edit ever (Letter - 450k views) and it correlates! The age groups who most watched are between 45 and 64yo.
I know I'm far from the biggest jikook channel out there so take it with grain of salt but still isn't it really interesting???
For the 10 years of jikook edit the younger folks (13-24) are the age group who least watched (only 7%)
Can we come to some conclusions from this?
It's safe to say than at least in numbers from this sample jikook indeed attract an older crowd and I find it so wholesome and cute 💜 it makes total sense given the maturity it can take to see jikook's bond for what it is without the distortions of people without much experience in life.
Of course all of it is a generality, many younger people also enjoy them (myself included (32 is young 🤭))
But I think it kinda confirms what we thought generally.
