I am the son of an immigrant. My immigrant grandfather taught me to draw American cartoons when I was 4. All I’ve known and all I’ve become is rooted in my immigrant upbringing in the middle of Texas in the 1980s when being different wasn’t cool. My parents fled Vietnam in a fishing boat after another kind of war and were taken in as refugees. Huddled masses yearning they truly were. #WeAreAllForeigners #resist (at New York, New York)
