Dance. In Community :)

El Dorado Elementary. December 2013. San Francisco, CA

I view dance as a form of community building.

Below is footage of work within the SFUSD; Students, teachers, principles, staff & administrators learn choreography in dance class during the curricular day, then come together to perform as a class and / or an entire school community.

At times these performances are stand alone, at times they’re piggy-backed onto all school events, at time they’re purely celebratory & culminating in nature. 

And at times they’re community Savasanas. 

Rehearsals can be facilitated by Youtube-ed choreography (an archive); Yay for the internet!
