T'Challa, Okoye, and Why I Ship Them

So an anon requested an essay on my opinion of T'Challa and Okoye having more chemistry, and here it is. I may get some hate, but Imma Gryffindor, so come at me lmbo!!

I will begin with this: I love me some Nakia. She is smart, strong, stealthy,  ambitious, she stands firm in what she believes in, and she wants good in her nation, as well as the rest of the world.  With Nakia's views and determination, she would make a great queen, as well as partner for T'Challa. She loves him a lot, that much is certain. Plus she is played by Lupita, and I love anything she plays. She could voice a blade of grass and I would stan for that blade of grass lol.

However,  I feel I love Okoye just a little bit more.

Okoye is a warrior!! She is loyal, she is brave, she is courageous, she is also firm in what she believes in, even if it may contradict what others believe, like with her remaining with Killmonger when the others left. In a lot of ways, she is like Nakia, only she isn't a spy and she doesn't seem as soft as Nakia is emotionally.

And while its 100% that T'Challa and Nakia are endgame, I can still see them chemistry with T'Challa and Okoye, and in an AU they could totally work.

First off, you can tell from the start that tho Okoye is a warrior and she guards T'Challa, she isn't just a robot who ONLY guards him. They actually have fun. They talk. They connect. They have moments where they can make light with and of each other. They have a genuine friendship that if Okoye wasn't sworn to protect the throne, she would have been protective of him anyways. If it was all king and warrior business, she wouldn't have had any emotions in the way she did when T'Challa and Killmonger were having the challenge, nor afterwards in the deleted scene when she was arguing with W'Kabi.

Speaking of Wasabi- oops I mean W'!Kabi (not a fan of him), those two have ZERO chemistry. They seem more business than anything. Okoye looks at T'Challa with more emotion than she does W'Kabi.  They don't seem to agree on much, especially with W'Kabi's focus on revenge than actually what will help their country. He's traitorous in my eyes, and you can see Okoye begin to lose respect for him when Killmonger takes the throne. Especially in the deleted scene where she tells him about himself.

And on the real, I 100% believed her when she said "without question" when he asked would she kill him (with his lil smirk. You ain't above the law). I felt she seen a traitor even more and felt that if he would be so quick to turn on someone who she thought he was friends with, he would do the same to her (which in a way he did that as well). Okoye doesn't need a flip flop like that in her life. Mad that he didn't get what he wanted, and was so quick to act as if T'Challa was that expendable.

Let me stop cuz I can make a full blown essay on that fool alone.

Anyways, the point of this whole thing is that I could definitely see T'Challa and Okoye in a relationship. Their leadership together would be monumental. I feel that they would definitely have equal footing. T'Challa respects her as well as her opinions, so he wouldn't try to overrule her decisions unless he had no choice to. I don't believe he would have her be that queen that just sits around and do nothing. He isn't like that anyways, regardless of who was beside him. He would allow her to be her own woman, as Okoye wouldn't accept anything less. At the same time, Okoye would be the one to keep him on his toes, to humble him when he needs to be humbled (in the comics he was a little more prideful at times), and really be that firm rock he needs by his side.

Plus come on, they look GORGEOUS beside each other lol.

I think I can honestly say that I haven’t seen a single story where Draco and/or Ginny is involved in hunting horcruxes during Deathly Hallows. Anyone ever seen a story like this??

I thought there were a lot more Deathly Hallows-era stories that take place during Hogwarts… but all of the stories I’m remembering are post-war/post-Deathly Hallows return to Hogwarts fics….

The truth behind the way I color rey is a little silly haha; since she grew up in a desert I guess she’ll have a gorgeous tanned skin, that’s what I aimed for. Perhaps I got carried away with my palette selection, giving the impression that I portray her a a poc; which is totally cool by me if guys see it that way :)
