We finished up a home performance project last week. A 1700’s Clifton park home. Part of the work scope was blowing in wall insulation. From the one infrared photo you can see the uninsulated. Then we put a few hundred pounds of all borate cellulose insulation through the insulation machine. It pumps through the hose and then on up into the exterior walls. This not achieves a better R-value but packs off air passage ways. Passage ways that can make an old home like this drafty. The home will be far more comfortable now. We should have never needed to do this work though. The walls were supposedly insulated through the #weatherization program in Saratoga County about 12 years ago. The county agency had no records on the home but the homeowner didn’t forget. It obviously wasn’t done right the first time. Not to mention how the hired contractor or county agency just drilled directly through the exterior siding. A waste of tax dollars on that go around. It was done right this time. #saratogacounty #weatherizationworks #weatherizationassistanceprogram #homeperformance #blowninsulation (at Clifton Park, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bv26ex1gGr1/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1q0qe9bw0h4dd
