i'm going to start this off by talking about farran ( justpartoftheplan ) ! i am a HUGE fan of legally blonde the musical, but i was never a huge fan of vivienne ?? i don't know, i never really saw her as a particularly interesting character in the musical ?? she was fine, but i didn't like her quite as much as i liked elle, paulette or even margot. but, then, i started writing with farran's vivienne, and i saw the real potential of vivienne ?? she took a character who, in the musical, seems to be mean just to be, well, MEAN, and really built on that, and i love it ?? it's sometimes really difficult to take characters from musicals, especially supporting roles, and really develop them and make them yours... and, my gosh, farran's vivienne is just the prime example of that. mad props.
next up, i'd really like to recognize nat ( upchuckfactor ) !! i never really jumped up on the heathers train ( yeah, yeah, i know... what's wrong with me ?? ) but, i do like it quite a bit ( the songs are catchy, i'll give it that ) and veronica's a great character !! i mean, the arc that veronica goes through during the course of the show / movie ?? there's a lot of interesting stuff to work with !! and, not going to lie... nat's veronica is pretty AWESOME. her veronica is SUPREME. she captures veronica so well - she really understands the complexities of veronica, and i love that she incorporates some aspects of barrett's portrayal into her writing. her veronica is just really well-developed and well-written, and, just... LOVE. highly recommend.
and, finally, lara ( weathervaned ) !! not only is her name really pretty, she's basically julie andrews ?? i grew up on julie andrews ( sound of music was my mother's favourite movie, so... ) and i love mary poppins... so, when i started writing with lara's mary, i was really excited !! and, man, does she deliver. you can distinctly hear julie andrews' mary in lara's writing !! it's truly phenomenal, especially for a mary poppins / julie andrews lover, such as myself. i just love writing with her mary, because it really does feel like you're talking to mary herself !! lara is also a really, really sweet person out-of-character. i haven't gotten to know her too well out-of-character, but she's always been so nice to chat with and really supportive, as we're on kind of similar journeys in terms of musical theater stuff... it's always nice to find people who you can talk to about that ?? so, yeah, she's GREAT !!
