Grey Area (Web Poem From "Grey Area," the "Othello" Poetry Project)
To create a web poem, select two or three words to be the focus of your piece and then make a word web that connects those core words to associated words. This will expand the imagery.
The elephant shirks the mouse,
The clouds hide the sun.
In that way, too, do we each
Interact with the other.
First timid and subtle,
Then outward and bold.
We keep on the fringes of extremes,
Slowly banding together
On the middle ground.
Not exact and precise like a science,
We make it up as we go along.
A muddled mix of a love
That’s never cold, cloudy or hazy.
