2 QUESTIONS TO ANSWER BEFORE BOOKING YOUR WEDDING VENUE
There are many questions that will run through your head when booking your venue, but there are two very important things to consider before you sign any paperwork or pay your deposit.
1) How many people will I invite?
This may sound simple but you’ll be surprised how many people place this near the bottom of the to-do list. It’s impossible to know exactly how many people will be in attendance but by narrowing it down to the nearest 10/15/20 guests will help you get a feel for the space and picture how you’ll fit everyone in.
Remember: There is such a thing as too much space. A large venue with minimal guests can make it feel empty and the atmosphere will quickly dwindle.
2) What type of wedding/event would I like?
If I had a ‘£’ for every time I have heard “We’ve got plenty of time for the creative/fun stuff”!!
Now, I’m not suggesting that everything must be designed and polished before you book your venue. That would be crazy! But if you dream of a summer wedding, does your venue provide plenty of garden space and maybe enough room for a gazebo/marquee? Or do you like the idea of a medieval style banquette? You would need a long dining room to create that style of catering.
Don’t pressure yourself to get everything in place too early but certainly build a picture of your perfect day ahead of viewing your possible venue.
