My two awesome friends Tierney and Vito tagged me so I am doing 2 at once right now.
Vito's questions:
1. How do you feel about your name?
I really love my name. My mom named me after the Beatles song 'Julia' and that is a truly beautiful song & I love John Lennon & and I just really like my name and I don't think I would ever want to change it. My last name is a different story because it is my dad's and he and I do not necessarily get along.
2. What kind of house would be your dream house?
A studio apartment in a city that I love OR a very small house somewhere conveniently located outside of a large city, within driving distance to it.
3. What is something that will never fail to emotionally move you?
I think there are a few things. Something that always moves me to tears is Elvis Costello's cover of 'What Do I Do Now?'. Something that always makes me grin and get happy goosebumps is the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Something that emotionally moves me in really complex ways I can't explain is listening to the songs my mom used to sing to us when we went to bed, or hearing her sing them. 'Blackbird,' 'Rocky Raccoon,' and some others. They always get me because of that association.
4. If you could time travel where would you go and what would you do?
I would go back in time to try to meet my mom when she was younger and just interact with her briefly to see if how I picture her lines up with how she really was.
5. What is an opinion/belief that you feel so strongly about?
There are a few things I want to mention. Here they are: a. All people should have equal rights and it is shit that in this day and age we do not. b. Paul McCartney is a shithead. c. If someone says that something they created is art, then that claim transforms it into art. (And people who say "I could do that" about any type of art are being assholes.)
6. What is your favorite movie?
Rushmore
7. Why?
Because my favorite director, Wes Anderson, made it and I think that it is funny, thought provoking, touching, sad, and beautiful all at once. I love the actors in it and the plot and everything about it is clever and smart and awesome.
8. In a perfect world where both anarchy and communism would work well. Taking dubious vigilantes and tyrannical laws out of the question, which would you rather live in?
Communism.
9. Dogs or cats?
Depends on my mood. Dogs, probably. I used to hate cats/they scared me, but not anymore.
10. What's stopping you now from doing the thing you want to do so badly?
Distance. (And the thing is kissing/hugging my boyfriend.)
11. Can you dig it?
I DIG IT THE MOST.
Tierney's questions:
1. What's your most prized possession?
My signed copy of Wigfield by Stephen Colbert because he signed it the day I met him.
2. Favorite fandom?
Ummm this is tough. Right now it's actually Star Trek, but I am not a part of it. I just follow people who are in it and think they are really funny/smart. I feel the same way about Hannibal, but I don't watch it. My favorite that I am a part of is Game of Thrones.
3. Favorite book?
This is hard. I love to read. Um. Probably The Catcher in the Rye. It's an easy answer. I always do cop-outs with favorite anything.
4. What's the meaning behind your blog name?
When I was a kid, people always called me Jules. My brother called me Jules McKenzie ONCE so I used it. It used to be Julia Bydulia because I got called that as a kid too.
5. Favorite show?
UHHHH. I watch a lot of TV. Cop out: Game of Thrones.
6. Which one: summer or winter?
Summer!
7. Do you have any piercings?
No, but I plan on changing that at some point. I don't know when.
8. Any funny childhood memories?
Once I lied and told my mom I saw a bear chase a family of bobcats across our backyard. I have no idea why I said it, and I insisted I wasn't lying, even though everyone knew I was.
9. Favorite YouTube channel?
Vlogbrothers. Hands down.
10. Pizza or potatoes? And why?
Pizza. The combo of bread and cheese is always a winner. And also you can get potatoes on pizza, but it's harder to get pizza on potatoes. Though I suppose it is not impossible.
11. What is your favorite gif?
Probably the one of Martin Freeman looking at Benedict Cumberbatch in a sheet from Sherlock.
My questions:
1. Who was your first childhood crush? 2. What was the best pair of shoes you ever owned? 3. What is the coolest thing you ever did on a rainy day? 4. What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday night? 5. Do you/did you ever wish you had a different hair or eye color? 6. What is the best book you ever got out of a library? 7. Who is the first person you go to when you have big news to share? 8. Who would you like to go see live (it can be any kind of performer, comedian or musician or whatever) that you have never seen live before? 9. If you could hangout with one celebrity for a full weekend, who would you choose and what would you want to do with that person? 10. Do you have a favorite painting/work of art? Who is it by/why is it your favorite? 11. If you could be any character in a movie from the last ten years, who would you be?
