The mangaka of Rurouni Kenshin, Nobuhiro Watsuki, just got arrested on child porn charges. There goes another childhood hero. Honestly genuinely upset rn because Kenshin was the first anime I ever watched, my older brother and I used to watch it together. Ugh.

i havent watched fmab since it first came out so excuse anything im remembering wrong

1) i hated the pacing. the first like....third was slow as hell and the last bunch of episodes take place over a matter of like a day, which made it hard to watch one at a time

2) a lot of concepts were backloaded (i felt) which is a problem the original anime had too but it had less concepts characters and ideas to introduce in the last like 1/3

3) i find mei and her panda really annoying. like i know its an action comedy but sometimes the comedy felt out of place to me.

4) i don't like that they white washed rose!!! i dont think shes necessarily a poc in the manga but she was in the first anime (and since really the only poc we see in the anime are the ishbalans, that's kinda interesting there are things to be discussed). i just feel like once a canon color design for her was established why walk it back, you know? turned me off. liiiiike cmon.

also this is even more personal but i like the themeing of the original way more. i think the more in your face comparison to our world war atrocities was more interesting than Fight With God

32) NOPE. i can’t usually even write things that feel that autobiographical. 99.9% of my shit is entirely fictional

49) uhhh the first one i read, i was 9 and it was an escaflowne fic about like...hitomi having visions on van from earth? idk i was a weeaboo and i didn’t understand what fanfiction was

the first fic i read that i UNDERSTOOD was fanfiction i was 10, it was gundam wing, and it was a pilotpile fic and i have many regrets
