The evening after Rin found Bakugo and learned about his condition, he swung by the 1-A dorms with a little gift for him. Dropped it off with one of his classmates at the front door, who then took it up to Bakugo's dorm room, only peeking in just fast enough to leave the box inside before they left again.
It's a container of food with a note on top
Your friends told me you like spicy food. My dad's the same way, so I wanted to make you one of his favorites, see if you like it. I hope you do. But I'm sorry in advance if it's disappointing. - Rin
Jjampong, a spicy noodle soup loaded up with pork and various veggies. It usually includes seafood, but Rin set the squid and shrimp aside in a separate container just in case Bakugo has allergies. The vibrant red broth alone screams heat.
When Katsuki opens his door, he's rubbing his eyes and nearly trips over the small box left outside.
At first, he just stares, not quite comprehending.
Then he bends down and takes the note on top, eyes scanning over the words at least thirty times, vision growing blurrier with every pass over the signature.
That...idiot. Caring, considerate idiot.
Something in Katsuki settles right then, the dark, ugly pit in his stomach softening and receding, just a little. Just a little, but still. His hands trembles around the container when he picks it up and takes it to his desk, pulling chopsticks out of his pen cup. (Who doesn't keep chopsticks on their desk?)
And the burn of spice and warm soup is familiar, soothing like a blanket dropped around his shoulders. He sniffles hard. Not from the spice. Damn it.
