How I Met Luke: Pt. 2
Saturday 17.03.11 10am.
[Facebook Message] Luke: Hello. (Sent at 3.13am)
[Facebook Message] Celestine: Cześć. Miło było cię widzieć. Jesteś bardzo interesującą osobą. Nie mogę się doczekać znam cię więcej, nawet jeśli jest przez Google Translate Czy jesteś w Hotel Imperial? (Sent 3.44am)
I spent the day catching up with Alan whom I have not met in 6 months.
"Do you think I should go meet Luke? I haven't received a message from him since 'Hello'. He was suppose to let me know where his hotel is, so that I could meet him there and proceed to dinner."
"So you have no idea whatsoever where his hotel is?"
"Well I do... He did mention Imperial Hotel. But I am not sure if that's where he is. Even if it is, I am not sure if he would be keen to go out to dinner still. Perhaps that's why there was no reply. But I wonder why did he bother to accept my friend request in the first place? AND send me a message."
"If I were you, I'd go and see for myself just so that I know. In any case just take it as a nice stroll along the streets of KL."
---
[Facebook Message] Celestine: Cześć. Co to jest nazwa hotelu? Spotkamy się tam i zabiorę was do kolacji. (Sent 1.40pm)
5.45pm - I decided to wait at the lobby of the Imperial Hotel.
[Facebook Message] Celestine: Cześć. Nie jestem pewien, jeśli otrzymasz moją wiadomość. Jeśli widzisz ten, czekam na ciebie w hotelowym holu.Jestem w hotelu Imperial. (Sent 5.45pm)
5.46pm, 5.49pm, 5.51pm, 5.54pm, 5.58pm - My heart skips a beat every time the lift opens.
6.00pm - The lift opens, a Chinese family walks out of the lift.
6.05pm - The lift opens, no one.
6.06pm - The opens, no one.
But I received a message notification on my iPhone.
[Facebook Message] Luke: I had to go to go with friends. I'm sorry, I did not have the Internet to write to you. (Sent 6.07pm)
Luke suggested dinner the next day but I had already purchased my bus ticket to Singapore for 5pm.
[Facebook Message] Luke: I get back to the hotel for 4 hours to you, write (6.16pm)
I window-shopped around the vicinity of Bukit Bintang, went to the bookstore, had dinner.
9.26pm. I received a message from Luke saying that he will be at Maybank. If you know what Maybank is, it is the bank with the largest network especially in KL - they have like more than 3 branches excluding ATMs in KL. I ask if we could meet in Pavilion instead - he says OK. 10.14pm. He sends me a message to tell me he is making his way there.
[Facebook Message] Luke: Sturbacks (10.45pm)
I sent him a message to tell him that I am at Starbucks Pavilion, Ground Floor but I do not see him. I sent him another message to ask him which Starbucks he is in.
[Facebook Message] Luke: Street, opposite the Hotel Agora (11.00pm)
I Google Map-ed, told him to stay put while I make my way there.
There he was.
Underneath the big white umbrella, sipping on his half-finished iced latte.
We greeted each other with first blush smiles, neither knew how best to start a conversation through speech. As I took out my iPhone to Google Translate, Luke gestures and speaks, he tells me he understands a little English. I put my iPhone back into my pocket, gestured and spoke: "Do you want to go for a beer?"
It is both a joy and a pain to communicate via Google Translate - on one hand I am grateful that I am able to convey what I want to convey, but on the other hand I am not able to convey everything I want to convey. Lost in translation are the nuances and innuendos. That said translating in person complete with facial expressions, tonality and gestures make up for it.
He reached over for his phone.
"Remember me."
("I will.")
"Come visit me in Poland. All will be taken cared of."
I mustered a smile.
("You inspire me to learn Polish.")
"Don't..
learn..
Polish.
I..
learn..
English.
For you."
We stayed awake 'till dawn not wanting to miss a moment of each other by falling asleep.
7am. The alarm rang.
("Stay with me.")
My plea did not win over a promise. He had made an earlier arrangement to meet his friends to see The Twin Towers.
("I'll walk you back to your hotel.")
He smiled with a look of endearment, "No. I go. You sleep."
I exhaled a little deeper than usual.
("I hope to see you again")
"Me too."

It's a weekend like these that make me smile inside :)
I'm so happy he came home with me! After trying to ignore him while there, he surprised me so much! It makes me so happy :D
I honestly don't want this feeling to end, from tickle fights to playing around to constant laughs and smiles & even nighttime cuddling <3
I love him so much, I wish he felt the same, I wish it would never end...
