Weekend Guide (27-Feb)
Once again it's the weekend and we are coming back with some neat suggestions on how to spend your weekend listening to live music. Ready? We got Linnea Olsson on board, the beloved Swedish singer. For Tokyoites we got some Japanese rhymes and Australian post-punk. Head on down to see more details and samples.
Stockholm
Friday
As I said earlier, Linne Olsson is playing a live gig in debaser. Her latest album, Breaking and Shaking received nice reviews in Swedish Magazines. Aftonbladet for example gave her 4 out of 5. I recommend you got and listen her live if you like indie pop/rock music.
In the same evening, Feather and Down is also playing. Born in southern Sweden, Maria Andersson has not been active in releasing albums. Her last album, Revisits was released by Irma Records in 2013. It seems that she is taking some time-off for new inspirations. Listen to Piece of Flesh, her single album from 2011, released by Westin Records. Check the event details in here.
Tickets: 120 SEK but if you get in before 20:00, It's cost-free. Age limit is 20 years old.
Saturday
Are you up for an electronic Saturday? Then I got something cool for you in my toolbox at Berns. The gig starts off with Anetha, Paris-based producer is not a first-timer in Berns Club. Her sounds and beats are well-represented in her tracks. If you are into underground dubstep techno music, you will love this one, no questions about it. I picked her performance on Slash Dot Dash's podcast from London.
Johanna Schneider is also coming up to Berns's Gallery 2.35:1 with some heavy and fast temp beats. Schneider is a Stockholm-based producer, also owner of Boss Musik indie record label here in Stockholm. I picked her live venue mix that she made while playing in Sthlm Murder Girl's event, down south in Malmö. Unlike many Swedish producers, Johanna's beats are suprisingly fast and I think her reverb synths notes can give you nice goosebumps on the stage in Berns.
If you are going to be there, you can enjoy a full-metal feminist army of producers. Cool, huh? We are in Sweden baby! Checkout the event here.
Tickets: 200 SEK pre-order and 220 SEK at the door.
Sunday
Special day for Jazz lovers. Peter Johanssen on drums, Jonas Olofsson and Daniel Tilling are having a live gig in Glen Miller Cafe. Peter Johansson was playing in a gig with Herbie Hancock on his song Sixtus years back in Swedish TV4. Don't miss it out, guys.
Have a great weekend ahead, yo peoples!

Tokyo
Friday
RBMA presents Black Coffee and friends at Air. Based on the fairly recent excursion by RBMA to Tokyo, this one should also be a banger. Black Coffee mainly seems to work within House and derivaded genres meaning this is one where you could take your special friend and have a great evening.
Or you can head down to Unit and get your rap on. 5lack, Kohh and Salu plus friends will make sure that you'll have a great time listening to some nice rhymes in Japanese. Tickets seem to be running out so get in early. 3500yen plus a drink ticket.
Saturday
Mitsume, Ykiki Beat and Sapphire Slows at Super Deluxe in Roppongi. Go listen to Mitsume and Ykiki Beat deliver some great indie rock with Sapphire Slows on the ones-and-twos during the other times. Sapphire Slows has been recently getting more attention that she deserves. 3000yen plus a drink ticket.
Sunday
Go get your post-punk on with The Pop Group with Zazen Boys and friends at Liquidroom. Tickets will set you back 6800yen plus a drink ticker. Personally this would be all about the Zazen Boys since I have managed to not catch them even once. It seems that tickets are already running low so get your tickets in advance or be there early.
See you next week!
