happy monday friends! it’s been a day - two coffees, the store i needed to go to was closed, and i just burnt dinner :( but we persist! and in an effort to raise my spirits, i thought i’d share another pollie snippet with you all, featuring the moodboard requested by @saturnwisteria 🖤
The bright sunlight hill soon gave way to a patch of dark woods. Oaks and sycamores cooled the air through which the girl ran. She stumbled only once, her too-big boots with the too-long laces betraying her just like they had at recess last Friday. All the girls in her class had laughed about her being poor, and she’d just glared. Everybody in Somerset was poor these days. All the money had gone, though to where Pollie wasn’t quite sure. Daddy wouldn’t tell her the whole truth when she asked, and Mama always told her to mind her business and be a good girl.
