hey! 1st let me say how grateful i am that there's a blog out there dedicated to attention disorders, sometimes i feel invisible and misrepresented and it's so good to know that there are so many other people out their taking their mental health seriously also on some kind of journey of self-discovery and figuring out how their own brain works. 2nd: do you have any experience with the effects of caffeine? i personally feel like it's helped me more than any medication has, but im still new to it.
oh man, I love caffeine, All my favorite drinks have caffeine – chai tea, mountain dew, thai boba.
There was a short period of time where I would drink iced chai lattes in the afternoon as a pick me up, but then my psychiatrist told me I really shouldn’t be drinking anymore stimulants on top of my stimulant medication. We fiddled with my dosage and now I don’t drink caffeine (except on special occasions like when I forget to take my meds).
for me the caffeine feels sharper? if that makes sense, and has more of a kick in the pants energy boost. I never get that kind of energy from my meds, but my meds do make me more motivated to start and accomplish tasks, which caffeine doesn’t do for me.
