so heres the thing okay, I love and adore kakashi not because hes cool or sexy or any of those silly stuff, i love him and obsess over him because hes pathetic, big sad, hes in his 20* stuck with kids, stuck with a village, stuck witha parasiitc eye, absolutely does not know wtf is goin on, tries his best, loves his dogs, maybe he is a dog, he is weak he is strong he is stupid he is undeniabley a genius,hes becoming snoop dog in boruto, hes traumatized, he died, has daddy issues, never knows a mom, probably doesnt know his own clan lore, and so manyyyyyy and you can built so many things out of his griefs and skeletons he hides in his closet that you can play with him and make him an even bigger whomp of a character!

I think it’s really funny how whump is like,, concerningly useful in real life. Yes, health-wise and medical-wise with injury descriptions and all. But I’m also talking about emotional abuse and manipulation, things like that. Lowkey had an emotional abuser restart a convo and try and manipulate me, and suddenly I realized that what they did WAS A WHUMP TROPE I READ A LOT. (Dw I blocked them and it’s chill now.) but seriously, whump is all fun and games til you start to notice things irl.

a good chunk of my fave tropes are basically catharsis honestly, it's a good way to cope with repressed things
