A Bronx man was fatally shot in the back down the block from his home after a fight with a rival, police said Saturday. Devon McFarlane, 24, was found sprawled out on the ground at the corner of East Burnside and Morris Aves. in University Heights just after 11:30 p.m. Friday, cops said. Medics rushed him to Saint Barnabas Hospital, but he could not be saved. McFarlane lived on Morris Ave., just a few homes from where he was shot. Witnesses said that he was arguing with another man before he was shot. The gunman ran off.
