GUESS WHOS THINKING ABOUT WESTLOTTIE AGAIN???? @lovelacings
The cool breeze makes the grass dance, the trees sway, the hair that escaped her braid fly wildly. The steady steps of the horse she’s saddled on had been soothing two days ago. Now, it was grating.
She’d been gone for some time. Lottie had never been good at staying in one place. But then again, she’d never had anything worth staying for.
And still, she couldn’t figure out for the life of her why she’d asked around towns for the whereabouts of a certain someone. She got lucky enough to get some general directions of some town she preferred not to be in. The things you do for something like love.
It came into her sight and the anxiety clawed at her. Lottie didn’t experience anxiety. She was too good for that. And still, as she climbed off her horse, tied off the reigns, and climbed the stairs of the saloon, her hands shook.
Lottie scanned the crowd. She found West at the very corner of the bar, nursing a drink - because of course he was. Last chance to back out now, she thought.
One look at him made her feet move on their own accord. Before she knew it, she stood directly behind him, more nervous than she’d ever anticipated.
“Don’t suppose you’re lookin’ for company,” she started, willing her voice to remain steady. “But if you’ve got room for one more, I could use a drink.”
@lovelacings :3
West Stanton stared almost numbly into his whiskey. That lonely feeling had come around again. He should have been used to it by now. A curse must be following him... He had lost his family to his own pride and he was sure he didn't have any real friends.
Well, maybe one. But he hadn't seen her in a while.
That didn't seem to stop her from haunting his dreams. So when Lottie's voice trickled to his ears like an oasis in the desert, West felt his whole body stiffen. His hand tightened around his glass as he strained to keep himself from turning and smiling at her. Fireworks exploded in his chest. But he had to be cool, right? Like he always was. Around the one person who he never felt he had to act around.
Sliding a coin across the bar, he nodded for the bartender to get another glass for the lady. "Oh, you know me," he drawled. "Can't ever say no to a pretty lady, can I?" Despite his attempt at being witty, West felt his voice fall sort of flat. He finally turned to look at her, eyes hesitant and heavy with something he wished he could express but didn't know how.
[ @lovelacings hihihiiii👋👋 when i tell you i screamed scrumt scrempt !!!!!!!!!! they are my roman empire, welcome back 😇]
thinking about how the first time they drank together, west toasted lottie and said "To her health and her piss poor sense of direction"
bc 1. i was real for that and 2. he'd toast that if they every got officially married bc omg he's so in love with her
@lottielovelaced
west i think lottie may be sweet on you …
"Really?"
West almost laughed. Lottie? Sweet on someone? On anyone? On him of all people? That was only something he could hope for in his wildest and gentlest of dreams. Lottie... sweet on him. The idea felt nice as it settled in his chest. He only wished it was real.
He chuckled in an attempt to push down whatever longing had risen in his heart. "Are we talkin' 'bout the same Lottie?"
oh weeeesssttt what do you think of a certain lady of the last name Lovelace >:)
West looked up from cleaning his weapon. He realized he probably looked up too fast. Eyes narrowing briefly before focusing at the stranger, he did his best not to smile. The name alone made his heart jump in a way he wasn't used to. Strangers didn't deserve to know that out of all the people he knew, she held a place in his heart so different from all the rest.
But it was hard to keep the glimmer of what looked like real happiness from his eyes.
"Lottie?" He asked casually, as if he had no clue what the person meant. "She a pain in the ass..." He lied. "And I suppose a good shot—but don't tell her I said that."
