we have been married exactly two months and it seems like years.
friends, married life rarely ever reflects what we see or read in fictional movies and books. it is a lot harder. but it is a lot better. it is a lot better because of Christ.
you see, i thought this season of being newly married was going to be sweet and blissful...still filled with a few bearable rough patches, which would cause me to grow (over time) into a beautiful, experienced wife. God had another plan.
i was cast away in the middle of the ocean without any limbs-no oxygen to keep me breathing. no boat. but i was given Jesus Christ. and He has lavished me with grace in giving me a strong and patient husband. we have been through fire, we have been beaten, we have been tossed into a ferocious storm at sea. but we have a God who sustains us when we chose to rely on Him solely.
i never imagined that any of these recent tragedies would happen, especially in my first two months of “blissful” marriage, but I am thankful they did. i am thankful because we are being made like Christ by participating in His sufferings and overcoming trials with steadfast hearts, using His strength, and trusting in His sovereignty. He is a good, sovereign Father. Therefore, I will keep giving Him my life in every season.
