heyyyy so i have finished the social creatures fic /lies on the floor, screams, then explodes/
you did so well with the non-linear structure of storytelling, ESPECIALLY with the phone call reveal and everything that hinted at it, and it honestly made the reading experience so so much more interesting also you did such a good job on keeping the character traits consistent with canon even in a setting that's so removed from it. and i didn't feel like i was losing anything due to the modern setting of this au, even though usually i'm not a fan of aus in modern settings
AND AND the AUDACITY of yours, the way you describe how dream needs wilbur to or that wilbur has already rewritten his very being????? fucking DIABOLICAL. IT MAKES ME WANT TO CURL UP ON THE FLOOR AND SCREECH
askjhdfjkshdkjs thank youuu <33 lying on the floor, screaming, and exploding is a perfect response to the fic thank you very much lmao <3
non-linearity is soooo fun and underutilized! obviously not every story will benefit from a non-linear structure, but some stories benefit immensely from it (like this one imo), and I think people should play around with it more. that being said! it is very difficult, so I understand why it's not as common, and also I am so so beyond happy that I did it well in this fic!! I was a bit worried about that haha (gosh you should see the earlier drafts of this fic when the order of the scenes was just a mess)
also yay!! I'm happy that the characterization was so good that it kept you engaged even when you're not usually a fan of modern aus!! that's very high praise thank you thank you
what can I say? c!dreambur will be c!dreambur. it's not my fault that in this fic circumstances pushed dream to such a point that he wanted wilbur to rewrite him as though that could wash away everything else. the characters practically took over my body at moments. it's really not my fault that they're like that ashdksgdkjsdhksjds
