Spoilers: She was still here.
“It took days and many lesser units were sacrificed... but it is over. They won’t be forgotten.”
I really get a kick out of rejecting “hot” guys with their abs and arms and what not because it’s honestly not a body type I like. I love seeing them be confused or mad as if I’m suppose to like it. Back to reality m8. You’re not as attractive as you think
Just got back from a lady-improv workshop with Shannon O'Neill!
It was fun but I was nervous having to perform in front of a group of students I've never met, some of whom are all the way into advanced study, having only completed 101 myself. That's part of the thrill and the magic and the challenge of it though. I enjoy being challenged. I enjoy being called out on my mistakes. It's how I grow. And thankfully, this particular workshop was designed strategically to make you think outside of the box and do things you might not be comfortable with.
In a conversation with a girl from the workshop on the train home, we were talking about self-improvement and she gave me a very candid but much appreciated note about how I need to show more and tell less in my scenes and man, she nailed it. I knew that there was something about my improv that was lacking, but she totally hit the nail right on the head. I think that's my curse both as a writer and as someone who is in their head for 90% of the day.
It's great that I know this now because I can work on improving it. Does anyone know if there are any physical comedy/acting classes in the city that I could look into? Whether I keep with improv or not, I think that'd be a good skill for me to hone regardless.
