1) What is your favorite historical event?

That time when there were like 3 popes excommunicating the fuck out of each other because Europe was an outhouse of stupidity, or the defenestration of Prague.  I like that word, defenestration.

4) If you could get a tattoo, what would you get, where would you get it, and why? 

A shattered glass heart that's covered in glue, tape, and random odds and ends, I would have it tattooed on the skin in front of where my actual heart is.  I would get it to represent the struggles that I've been through, and my ability to piece myself back together.  Despite missing some parts of my old self, and adding pieces that weren't originally there, it would still be my heart.

5) You knew this question was coming. What is your favorite kind of tea? (If you don’t drink tea, I don’t know what to say to you, but I suppose you can talk about how you like your coffee if you really have to.) 

(I feel like this was directed at me and Aya)  Contrary to popular belief, I'm more of a tea person anyways.  Uh, usually Dragon Eye Oolong or a 2:1 mix of Youth Berry White Tea and Orange Blossom Tea.

Vicky (your-average-bookworm), Vivien (what-a-liuser), and Juyeon (juyumyum) all asked me 11 questions like 2 weeks ago, so I chose my favorites because i should be sleeping but i'm doing this instead

your-average-bookworm:1. What's your favorite line from your favorite song? all i can think of are camp songs, so  "it's such a perfect night/it doesn't seem quite right/that this should be my last with you"  from "Linger", a campfire song

2. Absolute favorite character from anything and why? Ben Wyatt or Leslie Knope no wait Luna Lovegood no wait i can't choose there's too many

 I like Ben because he reminds me of myself, introverted and awkward and slightly confused with the world, but he manages to get by somehow. Leslie's passion and optimism shows how if you love something so so much, and you work hard, then what you do will always be worth it. Luna is unafraid and completely honest, and most people can't even be direct with each other. and there's more but you get it, I like fictional characters

6. What food represents you and why? seaweed and rice. simple, not too boring, not too flashy. nice if you like that sort of thing. also very asian.

4. If you could change your name to anything you wanted, what would your new name be? And why that specific name? i never liked my vietnamese name "thanh nguyen" because it's long and the meaning isn't really me, so i'd make it something simpler. 

6. Name one person that you would date if you were guaranteed that they would say yes when they asked you out. (sorry, but let’s exclude famous people/fictional characters from this one. Just people you know in real life, teehee): i wouldn't. being a counselor for a bunch of 12 year olds who would not shut up about the cabin of boys puts a nice perspective on dating- i.e. it's perfectly fine, but there's no need to make such a fuss about it. 

9. Weirdest art you've seen in person? giant mao zedong portrait at the met? or really any piece of contemporary art at the met, contemporary art is just weird to me.

6. how would the best summer be spent? not studying for the sat (sorry), for me so far it's camp. basically something that forces you out of your comfort zone and helps you grow.

Because I’m so self-centered, do you remember your first impression of me? Since I know you all in real life anyway. x) You were that girl walking around with Amy who actually wasn't awkward and talked to me even though you didn't know me. I thought you were pretty cool for that. Having confidence is a great trait hahaha.

Since I need to move away from seeming self-centered… who is your “senpai"? (idk i just wanted to ask that) KEVIN ROSENFELD. He's a graduated senior who did sports with me and basically coolest guy ever. On top of running with me most of the time, to being injured at the same time, to actually talking bout seriousness, he's a super cool bro. But I never got a chance to freaking sign his yearbook and I will hunt him down and sign the shit out of it when i get the chance LOL.

Write a biography of your life. Only use seven words. A running couch potato obsesses over vanity.

If you could change your name to anything you wanted, what would your new name be? And why that specific name? Ok well for one I wouldn't, but for two. Gilbert. LOL. Everyone who knows me from cross country and track calls me that and it's already like another name for me.

If you were one kind of beverage, what would you be? Vivien what kind of question is this. No one in their right mind would want to be a beverage. You'd have no sentience at all. That being said, I'm going to assume this basically means what is your favorite beverage and then... razzmatazz from jamba juice.

What is the most memorable dream (as in I’m-sleeping-right-now kind of dream) you’ve ever had? There's a few to be honest but the most memorable one would have to be from second grade. The population was turning into werewolves and I was a werewolf hunter and one of the few who hadn't been bitten yet and I had to kill a lot of my good friends and It was a super emotional dream and I just- yeah.

Which musical instrument would you like to learn how to play? OR If you were an instrument, which one would you be? Another if you were question... lol. Piano though for sure. Those video game soundtracks would be great to play. 

What is the weirdest piece of art you have ever seen in person? I haven't seen much art in person, although I do know a lot now cuz of apah... but because it says in person fml, there's this one sculpture at CSU Long Beach that really doesn't make much sense at all. It's hard to describe but it's orange I believe so if you really wanted to know google csulb sculptures then look for an orange one lol.

Your life’s philosophy: Basically hakuna matata. If you fucked up in the past and you can't do anything about, there's no point in worrying because there's no way you can fix it. But if it's something you can prevent from happening again then make it not happen again. Or if it's something you can fix then fix it instead of worrying about it. Otherwise stop worrying about it, learn from your mistake, and build yourself as a person because of it.

If you could be anyone else, who would you be? I honestly have no idea. There's not many people I look up to as role models in this world and the one's I do, I don't want their lives because they aren't me. As anyone else tho, I would love to be a person who gets to do what they love everyday and also prosper and have a good life in all aspects. For me, there's not a person that I'd want to be that really fits that into what I want to do and be. So, if I could be anyone else, I'd be me, but the best version of me that I could currently make myself into.

If you were about to die and the only option you had was to watch one last film before committing to eternal sleep, any film in the world, which film would you choose and why? Fuck this is really hard. It's between Remember the Titans and The Goonies... but as much as I love the former, the latter has a lot more memories associated with it, so probably The Goonies.

What is the thing you find yourself doing the most when you have free time (other than wasting time on tumblr)? Free time? Recently it's been a ton of youtube, but normally video games lol.

If all jobs paid the same, what would you do? It shouldn't matter whether all jobs pay the same or not, to be honest, but I'd probably be a school psychologist. A lot of people in high school are really fucked up, and if they needed to open up and heal, but couldn't talk to anyone else about it, I'd be there for them. Sometimes that's all people need to prevent them from committing suicide.

If you could choose your parents, which two celebrities would you choose? I doubt these two have much compatibility, and I love my parents, but for my favorite celebrities that would make good parents... Bang Yongguk and Emma Watson. HAHAHA yeah

What would be your ideal vacation destination? I don't really know shit about anywhere so if I go on vacation it'll just be me tagging along, I won't ever really plan a vacation myself. But I'd love to visit japan because I really want to visit the square enix building

If you were given one million dollars to launch your best entrepreneurial idea, what would it be? One million's not gonna do much tbh lol. And I also have no experience with entreprenuership so I don't even really know how to answer this. But with a million I'd buy a decent house, and a decent car, but not over the top so I don't go bankrupt and then I'd save enough to live comfortably while still working and donate the rest to come charit that needs it.

What book have you read that impacted you the most as a person? It was a book I read back in like 5th grade called Flipped. I don't remember who it's by though.

What do you think happens after death? Are you scared? I have no idea and I see no reason to think about. I mean, you're gonna die anyway so it really doesn't matter what comes after because you can't change what comes after. Am I scared of death? No. And I'm also not really scared about this, but all I want is to complete the things I wish to accomplish before I die. 

This is going to be a typical island question, but: you’re stranded on an island. You can only bring three things with you. What are they? You left this question too open ended huehuehuehue. I'd bring the people most important to me, provisions enough to last the rest of our lineage, and entertainment.

Who is your favorite artist (paintings, music, etc.)? Why? Nobuo Uematsu hands down. The music of the Final Fantasy series is amazing and can put me in a mood like nothing else can.

If you could turn into an animal at anytime (it’s some superpower you have), what animal would you be? Why? I have no idea LOL. Probably a husky because huskies are amazing.
