Last Saturday was the 3rd stop for the KBF Southeast Trail Series at Lake Chickamauga, one of the best bass fishing lakes in the country right now. I ended up finishing 11th place out of 120+ anglers, one spot out of the money! It was a super tight race, and 3/4 of an inch would have moved me up several places. To be honest, I felt quite fortunate to end up where I did. I caught lots of average sized fish, but only had one big bite all day. Believe it or not I’m pretty sure I never actually had the fish hooked. After getting the fish to the boat and grabbing her by the mouth, I look down and see the bend of the hook sitting it the corner of the fishes mouth where the jaw meets. The hook point never penetrated the skin. Pretty sure that’s the first time I’ve seen that. Anyways without that fish I would have been about 20-30 places down so I can’t really complain. Huge congrats to Kristine Fischer @midwestfishergal for the win and kicking everyone’s ass for the 2nd time in the last month. Can’t wait for the next event at Kentucky Lake next month, it should be a fun one! #hook1outfitters #irodfishing #kbftrail2019 #whataluckyfish (at Chickamauga Lake Soddy Daisy TN) https://www.instagram.com/p/By1gAdUgF7q/?igshid=bs85mdvmqvb0
