5. Which of your fics do you wish was more successful?

Do you know, I don’t have an answer for this actually! I started writing and posting this year without any inkling of much recognition at all. I have a longform crack fic in an anime fandom that never got much notice, but that’s not from this year, and it’s old writing from which my style has utterly changed, so even though I’m linking it it is a Totally Selfish Desire Because It’s Hysterical that I’m finally admitting (and also because my dearest friend @itachitachi and I still utterly cry with laughter at this beautiful piece of What Even.), nobody feel obligated, good lord. It’s 17.5k of What Even. I’m serious.

....in case you’re wondering where I got the practice writing crack fic. This. uh. yep. that’s where.

8. Which fic this year was most fun to write?

You know what, fine, I cave. The Throne In The Hall was the most fun. That two-chapter fight scene was a beast to write but I loved every beat of it; the imagery on chapter three flowed so easily it was alarming. This is one of those fics I woke up with and could not. stop. until it was told. So if that’s ‘fun’ - and to me it is - then yeah. Throne.

10. What, if anything, are you going to try to do differently in your writing in the new year?

I’ve answered this here but it is still quite true! This year I need to finish and post long-form fic, and stop wimping out at the amount of editing they need once the first draft’s out. smol!Shiro is stuck in this pattern; so also is that epic Star Wars fic that yes, yes, I absolutely need to get it out before Episode VIII. And I will. It’d be a shame not to. So that’s definitely a goal.(Second minor goal: be less verbose and stick to Limits. good gravy, self.)
