An antique Wheeler and Wilson sewing attachement box that was made anywhere from 1850's to 1905. Wheeler and Wilson was one of the original sewing machine companies. They were established in 1850's and was bought by Singer in 1905. These boxes were being made around the Civil War era. The box was probably hand made judging by its finger joints and the wood around the button desinged to open the latch. It features a very ornate carved top with the W & W logo. The inside is velvet lined. These are great heirloom boxes to store keepsakes in, a man's jewelry box, or thread and needles.
