Project Hail Mary X Transformers

My friends dub the au, TransMary

uhh guys, you know the kids are supposed to be the ones doing the science projects, right?

(both of the volcanoes explode and the entire school has to evacuate)

(ratchet and soundwave cope by splitting a bottle of wine later that evening before going and paying their husbands’ bail)

i had sm fun designing the waves for this au. i’ll probably do a little bit of tweaking but overall im happy with the designs. i tried to almost make them parallel wheeljack and ratchet in a way— shockwave’s lower arms/sleeves (?) are inverted from wheeljack’s and they both have a rounder upper torso, although shockwave’s is sharper. soundwave and ratchet have the same shape of upper torso, but like WJ’s and shockwave’s arms, the shapes are inverted from each other. then they both have the sharp chevron things and the armor on the sides of their helmet. a lot of this came from their original G1 designs of course, it’s not like im totally inventing their designs here, but i def tried to play into the whole “these are the evil versions of wheeljack and ratchet and grimlock in the neighborhood” concept while simplifying their designs for this au/style. also here’s the bg on its own—

Out of great curiosity, was the "what if Cybertron being revives also boots up the Matrix" canon to your universe, or was it truly a what if? I'm deeply curious if we'll see Optimus within the main story or not!
