March is cerebral palsy awareness month! If you didn’t know cerebral palsy is caused by damage to the brain during or shortly after birth. I wasn’t breathing when I was born, which caused the damage to my brain. I describe cp by saying the signals my brain send to my body are a little haywired most of the time. My muscles are usually super stiff which causes some discomfort at times. It takes me twice as long to complete a task and I use twice the energy or more completing said task, but I get it done and that’s all that matters! • Cerebral palsy affects every muscle of my body including my voice and eyesight. I used to be one of those people that didn’t want to be “labeled” as having a disability, but as I have aged I have become disabled and proud! • Do you have a cp related question? Drop it in the comments! I’d love to educate! 😃 • #disability #cerebralpalsy #wheellife #educate #advocate #cerebralpalsyawarenessmonth #disabledandproud #disabledandcute https://www.instagram.com/p/B9j3NydJ1yB/?igshid=13y7uzzqiw6tn
