I just changed the text on my Ask box to something rather silly and long, but actually it's something I'd like to address.
I am absolutely flattered and touched whenever I get a comment on one of my stories in my ask box. It is literally my favorite thing.
However, as we all know, Tumblr's messaging system is absolute shit. If I private respond to these messages, I lose them forever. If I publish all of them I feel a bit egotistical. If I respond separately, then the comment is eventually buried by later messages and I never see it again.
Meanwhile, AO3 has a great comment system that doesn't have a word limit. Really, the best place for any comments on a story of mine that you liked is there, because I can therefore treasure and re-read it forever and ever without having to scroll through hundreds of messages or post it to my blog to find it again.
So, long story short, if your Ask is a response to one of my fics please post it in the comment section of the fic on AO3 so that I may treasure it forever and not put up with Tumblr's bullshit.
