I wish more people commented on Meursault having a gauntlet that he doesn't seem to take off (at the moment, correct if wrong). He does have two, is shown on Vellmori's art and his battle sprite.
My only theory is that in the hand he hides there's still parts of his distortion and that the belt is meant to surpress the distortion, AKA still in distortion partially. Could explain why Dante comments about feeling something off with Meursault and him being so high in the powerscaling ranking.
(Taking in count how much he looks like the most boring clerk ever. Sure he could access Vespa's files but the way Vespa talks about him makes it look like he's nobody. This makes sense for Meursault since in the book before the trial he was too a nobody, which is somewhat important. Sure, he is a little off putting but nobody seemed to care enough.)
CONTRADICTION: If the belt is meant to surpress distortion then the hand thing applies to any Meursault. There's Meursaults with their hand showing.
