The internet lines are still down, but with every passing day it feels like we are getting closer together fully up and running again.🤞 In the meantime, trying to focus on all the sweet things in life like this vintage Whitman’s chocolate tin. It features imagery of a real-life sampler made by Dorrit Gutterson in the 1970s and is based on a design from a 1912 Whitman’s chocolate box. From the very beginning back in 1842, Whitman’s has always been known for their pretty packaging, but this one especially is full of springtime cheer. Dorrit’s designs were loved so much that Whitman’s sent her on tour around the country so that she could proudly show off her sampler and explain her stitch work to needlepoint enthusiasts. That led to a lot of autograph signing too - not on paper but on chocolate tins instead:) Dorrit said it was one of the most thrilling experiences of her life - meeting all sorts of people and traveling to all sorts of places.
