Passing out - insider whumpformation
So I had my first installment of testosterone yesterday (woo) and came very close to fainting because i had been nervous and not eaten very much. Im gonna list here all the interesting things that happened that I haven't seen described too much, feel free to use these in your whump writing 😘:
Dizzyness and nausea. I stated to panic a bit when I felt this (I called the nurses over twice because they didn't hear me the first time) if someone hasn't fainted before, it can be very scary!
"Greying out". I experienced tunnel vision, and then when the nurses came over I could see nothing at all for about 30 seconds. My vision was totally grey hense the name, like TV static. I could hear the nurse instructing me through some deep breaths and that was all I could focus on. Got an irl "I can't see" moment in there.
Pupils dilate. Because I couldn't see anything my pupils got massive because they're trying to search for light, this account second hand from my sister who was there lol.
I can only guess at this one but looking very "not present", I assume my face was totally blank through this cause I was focusing on breathing and stuff, I felt like a sick victorian child ngl, very dramatic
Vision coming back. When they got me up onto the bed I started to be able to see again, I would describe it as seeing everything through gradually decreasing amounts of TV static.
Ears buzzing. For the whole time, and for about 10 minutes after my sight came back my ears were ringing, I could still hear people but they were kind of muffled like being underwater.
Sweating. It gets very hot very quickly, one gets the urge to take off clothes and drink a lot of water.
So yeah I was conscious the whole time but it was pretty close to a faint they reckon. The nurse explained to me that this can be caused by a lot of your blood sugar going to your brain to help you cope with something you're anxious about, then flooding out creating a dip when you relax, which can cause a faint.
I was totally fine and had a good laugh pretty much as soon as they got me lying down, they also gave me a lollypop to help with my blood sugar, and took my blood pressure a couple times before they let me go.
Feel free to reblog with questions if you ant to know more and go worth and write your whump fantasies!!
