Prompt Suggestions | July 20 - August 3
(Poster by @natselise)
Theme voting is now officially closed and prompt voting is open! By popular demand, our theme for Wayhaught Week has been chosen, and it is Tropes & Cliches!
For those unfamiliar with the terms, tropes are literary conventions that are familiar to the audience, and that will provide the reader/viewer with some sort of expectation of the story being told. A trope becomes a cliche when it is overused and has become so recognizable that the reader/viewer not only has an idea of what will happen, but can wholly predict the series of events to come. Some links to help if you’re still confused: an exhaustive list of tropes, a list of cliche examples, a list fairytale tropes and cliches, and an awesome song full of examples.
When submitting, you do not need to specify if your submission is a trope or a cliche, so don’t worry; in fandom there tends to be quite a bit of overlap (and because this is a femslash ship, most cliches are arguably going to be tropes anyway).
The submission box is open again, and will be accepting prompt submissions now through August 3rd. If you would like to participate and have any concerns, please contact me.
Before submitting your prompt(s) in the submission box, please read the following guidelines:
Anyone may submit prompt suggestions. If you do not have a tumblr account/cannot submit for any reason, please visit the ask box and leave your suggestion(s) there.
There is no limit on number of prompts you may submit. You may submit them to the submission box or the ask box. You may submit multiple prompt suggestions in one entry, or in multiple entries, whichever is easier.
Prompts should be relatively short; the most effective prompts will be two or three words max, such as “doppleganger dating” or “truth serum”. However, feel free to give a longer explanation if you feel you can’t communicate your submission in just a few words. (And if you got it off of the trope site, feel free to include the link!)
Prompts must fit the current theme of Wayhaught Week: Tropes & Cliches. This may include other theme suggestions that did not win if the topic qualifies.
If you have any questions about your submission, feel free to ask! I don’t bite, I swear, and there are no stupid questions.
Submissions will be open until August 3.
As with theme submissions, URLs will not be listed with suggested prompts for voting, but will be credited if they win. (If you do not wish to be credited, please let me know when you submit.)
While you are free to submit anything you like, no harmful/offensive/discriminatory suggestions will be posted. If you are unsure if your suggestion is appropriate, feel free to ask.
Have fun submitting your prompts, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them!
