i think. joe uses his elytra in a very calculated way. he's good with his wings in the way you're good with a car, or a machine - not as an extension of himself, but as something he has had to tame, every single movement a conscious decision.
i dunno. the wings, his fork. it's just all very. purposeful. a very intentional way of movement instead of just how he gets around
