leaving her first love was hard    but it had been over four years since she had seen chad or anyone from high school. she finally got her degree and she was ready to go back home. she missed everyone from home and it was hard the moment she was back in town. she didn’t know if things would be different or the same. grabbing her coffee, she left the coffee shop before opening the door almost hitting someone with it. she dropped her coffee to grab the door with both hands before it did hit the boy. she swallowed hard before frowning.         ❝     i’m so sorry.      ❞      she was fine that she lost her coffe, she just didn’t want hitting someone with the door to be on her mind the whole day.

         monstrosity? 

        that was a little mean. but very well placed. it certainly was  … a bit of a mess. frosting covered her nearly from head to toe, all over her hands and shirt, some had even managed to splatter onto the counter. her chin automatically ducks out of embarrassment, eyes avoiding his carefully. she has a feeling he’s close to laughing at her.

           cheating was something she’d never thought she would do. it was wrong and she knew that but after her boyfriend had left the party last night, she had downed one too many shots and her decision making wasn’t the best. sure, she had only been with her boyfriend for a few months but that didn’t make things any better. she had would just go see him before he went to class - not to tell him what she had done (no, she planned on taking that to her grave) but for a simple good morning and to bring him some coffee.

          as the blonde opened the door she took a deep breath and put a smile on her face, “hey babe i brought you a coffee before cla-” she froze as she looked up. instead of seeing michael, her eyes landed on the same guy from last night. the wave of guilt hit her once more but hey, at least he was cute - she was almost proud of her good taste even while drunk. almost. “what the hell are you doing here?”

every other kid speed walked or ran towards the cafetaria when it’s lunch time. but mohini banerjee didn’t. (there were too many people there, she needed some time to herself.) no, she sneaked into the now empty theatre and grabbed the guitar in the corner. after that, she sat down and started to strum, the sound of birdy’s ‘skinny love’ filling the empty room.
