my three word prompt, you sleepless cupcake: hot, rain, watercolor
It’s beenraining all day, the sounds of droplets on the roof of their tent weavingtogether, merging into one, strong, powerful. Just like us, Finn thinks, and Poe kisses him, again; and the airis too hot, making Finn dizzy, but he doesn’t stop kissing Poe, he never stops, never will.
The rainlets up and the last rays of the setting sun make the tent glow. Poe pulls theflap open, and Finn stares into the world outside in awe, the colours muffledyet bright, the world quivering and uncertain, like an unfinished painting-
“Aquarela,”Poe says, “Watercolour. Beautiful.”
Finn turnsto nod his agreement, but Poe isn’t looking at the sunset.
Poe islooking at him.

Heyho!^-^ I’m quite okay, thank you so much! <33 Hospital isn’t as horrible anymore since I’ve found friends there, and the therapies are definitely helping :) Soo, ten things that make me happy, let’s see:
1. Seeing other people being happy and laughing
2. My cat (also, animals in general, especially in situations when a foreign dog or cat is approaching me on their own or something like that)
3. Music (listening to it, as well as making it myself)
4. That particular, very warm, beautiful, orange light that’s shining when the sun sets
5. Strangers being kind or, generally, random acts of kindness
6. Long train rides and (aimless) car rides with friends
7. Cosiness (chimney fires, soft and warm blankets, tea, nooks…)
8. Getting compliments, and other’s telling/showing me that they were thinking of me
9. Stars
10. The first flowers in spring
…Not gonna lie tho, well-written fanfiction definitely deserve a mention on this list as well! :D

Rules: In a text post, list 10 books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard - they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag 10 friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them!
okay so, it’s gonna be the order they pop into my head, because I don’t have a favourite book, I have favourite authors, lots of them, and I can’t say that I love some of them most either, because I love all of them))
here goes
1. Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman (my guess is that it’s this book because I’m rereading it now, but all the rest of Gaiman’s books go here as well. All of them. Twice)
2. Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury (again, love all of his works, but this one has a dark and twisted edge to it that is so uncharacteristic of him, that’s why it stands out to me)
3. A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore (I love him, he’s brilliant, dark and hilarious, and this was the first book of his that I’ve read)
4. Comet in Moominland by Tove Jansson (she is brilliant and this is one of my favourite childhood books, all the Moomin series, really, and her short stories and novels that aren’t for kids are awesome as well)
5. The Cronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny (I can’t even begin to describe how awesome these books are. I grew up with his short stories, but haven’t read this series until I was much older, and these books stole my heart is2g)
6. Terry Pratchett. No, I can’t name a book here, sorry. All of it, literally all of it.
7. The End of Eternity by Isaac Asimov (and Foundation series. and all the rest of his works who am I kidding)
8. Rayuela (Hopscotch) and 62: A Model Kit (62/modelo para armar) by Julio Cortázar (these two books go together for me, but really I love all of Cortázar, all of him, and his short stories have that weird dream logic, you know, when you wake up and the things you remember from your dream as logically connected make absolutely no sense to your awake brain. And Cortázar makes this logic work perfectly in the reality of his stories and I love it so so much)
9. Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami (again, love his books, love his style that’s somewhere in between the east and the west, and the dream-like logic, too)
10. Max Frei. Despite the German-looking name, this is a Russian author, and for him I can’t name a favourite book either, so imma go with all of them because he is brilliant. Unfortunately, as wiki tells me, there’s only one of his early books that’s been translated into English. Sigh. I’d really, really recommend reading his works but I guess you’d have to learn Russian in order to do so.
wait wait what do you mean just ten books? ugh not fair there are so many more I could go on about for ages. SO MANY.
anyway I’m tagging @gabriels-horn-of-truth @greymichaela @kibberswrites @thetrickyowl @mooseofthetrickster @synergygabriel @quakerandnowitschristmaslass @platonic-rabbit and @obscuramrose
(don’t do it if you don’t feel like it but I’d really love to see you guys rant about your favourite books)
The Fool, Death and The Sun! :)
The Fool: Tell an embarrassing story. Well, I’ve already told this one briefly in some ask game, but I don’t think I’m ready for the world to know my other embarrassing story that involves drinking, and can’t remember any other embarrassing ones, so here)
I was fifteen when it happened. I went camping with my uncle, aunt, two cousins and a friend of mine. We hiked up to a lake in the forest, and it was very beautiful and we made bonfire and swam in the lake and my friend had a guitar and he sang songs and it was all very nice for my romantic heart. At that particular time I wasn’t in love with anyone, so by saying that it was all very romantic, I mean all the things generally described as romantic (i.e. singing and bonfire and lake and all that), but without the actual, you know, romance. I thought of him as a very good friend, a real buddy kind of friend, nothing romantic about it whatsoever, and I loved the fact that we had such an amazing friendship.
Somehow we ended up one tent short on this camping trip, and there were 6 of us and two tents: one for 3 people and one single. My cousins and their parents somehow managed to fit into 3-person tent, leaving me and my friend with a single one. Totally no big deal, I thought nothing of it, I mean, we were friends, right? So what if we were different genders, it’s not like you need to strip in order to sleep in the forest (the night was pretty chilly). So I take my sweater off and get into the tent and under the blankets, and as we stayed up pretty late (the four of us, my uncle and aunt went to sleep early), I was drifting off to sleep as soon as I was horizontal. A few minutes later my friend climbs into the tent, and I can hear him shuffling as he settles in, trying to be as far from me as possible (the tent was pretty big for a single so we had enough room to be sleeping comfortably with some space still left between us).
So he settles in and keeps quiet, probably thinking that I’m already asleep. And I’m like half-asleep, and drifting off already, but then a totally weird thing happens. He begins breathing very heavily. His breathing kinda disturbs my sleep, and also makes me concerned: what if my friend is not feeling okay? So naturally I speak up and I ask him: “why are you breathing like that? Are you feeling okay?”
And he stops breathing altogether for a couple of seconds and the he replies, and his voice is kinda strained. “It’s okay,” he says. “I always breathe like that.”
“Oh, okay then,” I say and fall asleep, bless my fifteen-year-old ace heart, not a single thought that something wrong is going on there drifting through my head. I mean, he’s my friend, why would he lie? I asked him, he said it was nothing, so I nodded and went back to sleep.
The most embarrassing part of this story is that it took me YEARS to get it. I never even connected the dots when a year later he was professing his undying love to me. Needless to say his proclamation took me by surprise and I was shocked, because well, the way I saw it, I was just being friends with him, and there were no signs he was feeling that way whatsoever. Nope, none at all)))
Death: If you were able to reincarnate, what would your next life be? I gotta fess up here: I believe in past lives and reincarnation. As for the next life, well, I think that as they go, whatever there is that is waiting for me next, it’s gonna be just right. Because all the experiences that we have throughout our lives, they are all important, and whatever is happening needs to happen so that we can learn and grow. When we die, our experience is the only thing that we take with us. And there’s always gonna be some bad things and some good things, some happy things and some sad things, and this is the right way, because all of those things are equally important.
The Sun: Describe a childhood memory. I was four or five, I think, and my parents and I went on a cruise ship down the Volga river (we did it a lot when I was little, as my dad took regular jobs on those cruise ships as a DJ). This particular trip, we came to Moscow, and the ship was to spend a couple of days there. We arrived pretty early in the morning, and my parents had lots of shopping to do, and they knew it was gonna be a long day that involved lots of walking, and I was just a little kid and not particularly fond of walking long distances or waiting in boring queues to buy some stuff that wasn’t available in our hometown (it was still USSR back then, so, in case you didn’t know, it was a thing: people had to wait in long queues in order to get things like pretty clothes or some food items like, idk, salami or bananas or oranges. Yeah, it sucked). So my mom talked to me and I agreed to stay on the ship with my toys and my drawing. I was delighted, actually, because I would be all by myself for the most part of the day to do whatever I wanted and be just like a grown-up.
So my parents left, and I was perfectly fine until a couple of hours later the ship started moving. And I couldn’t get out of the room, because they locked me in, and I was scared that the ship was going to leave and nobody knows that my parents were left behind, so I started crying. And I cried for so long and so desperately, that some woman came by the window and started asking me what was wrong, and tried explaining the whole thing to me but I wouldn’t listen, so she ended up pulling the window down with my help (the lock had to be held from the inside so that the window could slide down), and she pulled me out through the window and took me to her room, and managed to get me to calm down by offering me a huge watermelon and a spoon, and then she explained that the ship wasn’t going anywhere, it was just moving a little so that the other ships can get their passengers ashore, and I was distracted and stopped crying eventually.
Imagine my parents’ shock when they returned to find an open window and no kid in there%)))) But it all ended well, and later my dad explained the whole thing with the ships in big and busy ports like Moscow, and I understood it but the next day I went with them and never stayed on the ship while they were out in the city during that trip.

The Empress, The Devil, The World
What do you desire most?: At this point in time an actual house. The apartment I’m currently in just changed management and is actually awful now. My boyfriend, a friend and I are looking into getting one soon. THEN I WILL BE PERMITTED TO GET MY LARGE BUN.What do you think your worst quality is?: I’m actually really horrible to myself I guess. In the way that I’m a big downer on myself and whenever I get happy about something I seem to always end it instantly. I’m pretty good at working myself up into a panic attack a lot of the time. What country would you most like to visit?: Oh man-- that’s a hard one because I really just want to travel everywhere. Italy is at the top along with France and Ireland.
