This Why Not Wednesday is about Eddie Palmieri. Mr. Palmieri is a pianist, bandleader, composer of salsa and latin jazz who's been at it going on 60 years. With a biography and discography that is so rich, he is one of the first artists that fused Black and Latin music. The most notable of all is "Harlem River Drive". Just imagine if The Young Lords and The Black Panthers had a cookout, this is what I think would be played at that cookout. Enjoy this episode of the Note from Red Bull Music Academy.

Hello babies! 

"Why Not Wednesdays" is a (sometimes) weekly post on www.djshani.com. I realized with all of my experiences, travel and otherwidse, that I've been exposed to some very cool, bizarre things that I would've never been exposed to before. I see WNW as an opportunity to show you all some cool sh*t! So why not, right?

In these trying and confusing times, I understand, now more than ever, that the entire world is on edge and it needs a good cry, home-cooked meal and a very long hug.

Here's my version of what I think the whole world needs. Wholesome laughter. Creature Comforts began in 1989 and is a stop motion clay animation comedy mockumentary. A friend sent this to me and I was home recovering last week and it completely won me over. S/O Melinda Chow, for giving me this gem!
