Santa Claus. He is real. I saw him. I see him every year.
People change every year, so it's understandable why he always looks a bit different. of course his beard is different. Its a different year. Fashion is a seasonal changing phenonmenon, that incudes Santa's outfit. What wife would let their husband wear the same clothes every year, Ms.Claus is no expception. This explains why he is wearing something different everytime I see him.
This year I visited him in the Wicklow Goal, which is that lovely building below all lit up with pretty lights. It was decorated in a Victorian theme, with the tour guides in victorian costume. Unfortunetly I do believe it will be my last year visiting Santa, as my little sister will next year, undoubtedly, be a non believer. Actually, this is no reason for me to stop going... I'll just look unquestionably weird and out of place.
My family came and watched me row this morning, first time it has rained since September. So they were out walking the river bank watching the boats and it starts pouring rain! Grrrr
After a quick coffee and my uncles we picked up fellow Santa visitors and headed down to Wicklow. The main outcome of this trip is the real festive spirit that i am getting into. I finally picked up some loverly hand crafted irish presents, and because it was so cold out I got myself a half pint of mulled-wine which warmed me down to my toes! Was soso delicious!
The Wicklow Goal is apparently the most Haunted building in Ireland. Understandably. It has some horrible history following it like a lost mongrel. But for this one month it is made festive and cheery. It didn't really disappoint to be honest.
Also, ate my first mince pie of the season. Bring them on is all i can say. I can hear my butt crying 'NO Jenny, NOOoooooo!! Please!" I will not listen.
Sitting listening to Christmas songs now. Sigh, can't wait for the 8th so I can finally decorate the house. Waaay! :D
