Wall of Death, Somerset, 1995. Widelux F8 panoramic camera. Shot in a time before health and safety and risk assessments took control. The completely mechanical Widelux had a rotating turret lens which the film contoured around giving a curved focal plane and a 140 degree view. It was tricky to use handheld without getting your own fingers in the shot, well my big hands anyway. I loved that camera. The distortion in the image is caused by the panning motion combined with the 1/125th rotating lens, which wasn’t as quick as it sounds. 1/125th meant it took about one second for the full frame to be exposed. This is an un-cropped scan of the negative which I discovered on my computer during a clean out yesterday. . . . #oldiebutagoodie #film #filmphotography #wideluxf8 #ilfordhp5 #wallofdeath #blackandwhite #reportagephotography #shotwheniwasyoung #motorcycle #speed #gravityissues #bigtop #photography #photographer #showingoff #needforspeed #panorama #panoramicphotography #photoinspiration #christographer #christography (at Royal Bath Showground) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtnTCtTAKIk/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1qe1za6e4cr4d
