What sort of tropes do you think make for the best whumpers?

So in general, I think the best whumpers are... plausible, not as tropes but as characters who do what they do for reasons, and in the same context I do think the best whumpers are purposefully tailored to complement their whumpees (or vice versa).
That said, I can also give tropes 😅 I love intimate whumpers, who deeply enjoy getting in their whumpee's personal space and mess with their perception of self. Whumpers who give creepy comfort, who can seem to be accommodating in a second and incredibly cruel in the next. Whumpers who, because of some sort emotional intelligence, just understand whumpee's weaknesses and needs.

On the contrary, sometimes I also just love a full-on violent, sadistic brute, who hurts others simply because they like to cause pain and can get away with it, and who don't care about whumpee at all. My guy Piers, who was developed with @wildfaewhump and who doesn't get enough love, fits into that; and to some extent also the Pet Safety villain Jack (he's just also super rich, so he makes it seem sophisticated. It's not. He's a rich brute. And that one also holds grudges.)
What makes whumpers special to me is their relationship with others. Multiple whumpers are the best, especially when there are power plays among them, or when they are in love and egg each other on.
Ugh. Yeah. Maybe I just love most whumpers. Thank you for getting me daydreaming 🥰
