EMedical Portal – A Progressive Step To Improve Immigration Processing System
Few years back, Australia took a step to improvise its immigration processing system and launched an online health processing system called “EMedical”. Purpose of this system is to create ease for applicants to submit their medical reports like chest x-rays, lab tests etc. online. These medical reports are then assessed by the authorized panel of physicians, appointed to the immigration medical branch, in order to determine the medical examination results. These results are then reported to immigration without withholding from the applicant. This is also worth mentioning here that if there were anomalous findings, the panel physicians in medical branch would either advise you on that soon after they receive the chest x-ray or lab tests or at the time of examination. The purpose is not to keep back anything related to medical examination findings from the applicant. This electronic system is meant to not only expedite the process of evaluating immigration medicals but also increase the overall efficiency of Australian Immigration Process .
Considering the benefits of having EMedical system in place, Canada and later on, New Zealand joined this because their immigration process is similar to Australian. The medical branches of all of the three governments access the data to determine medical examination results which are then made available to immigration for evaluation. These data are accessible by the aforementioned medical branches through a centralized server located in Australia.
EMedical is an advancement in medical and immigration fields that is expected to open new avenues for researchers where those means can be explored that can reduce the overall immigration processing time also. This reduction in visa processing time can lead to processing greater number of applications in relatively lesser time and ultimately, keeping the applicants from long wait.
