J-pop <3 Part 21: LiSA, LiSA, LiSA!

Konbanwa, minna-san! It's that time of the week again (yeah, sure, as if there's actually some sort of pattern)! Ehem. Today's featured Japanese artist is LiSA! She's probably one of the many artists that are harder to search on YouTube or online without adding "J-pop singer" to the end of your search. On that note, it's kind of sad that search engines can't tell the difference between upper and lower case letters... Seriously, how many Lisa's are there in the world?! *sigh* Anyway, moving right along! If you don't know who LiSA is, then you probably don't know yourself. Haha! Aw! Come on! You know I'm kidding with you... I love you for reading this, you know. Even if you don't know her, I still love you. I won't even hold it against you; actually, you're probably not the only one who doesn't know.

LiSA is actually her stage name, which stands for "Love is Same All". English-speakers, cut her some slack, it's a cute name, okay? Her real name, if you really wanted to know is Risa Oribe. Whatever you wish to call her, she's an adorable punk-er all the same. For all the Anime-lovers out there, you've probably come across one or two of her songs in the past 3 years. LiSA and her band (which is a pretty darn good band I might add) have graced the Anime scene with catchy opening, ending, and even insert songs. Anyone remember the band in Angel Beats!: Girls Dead Monster? She was the vocalist for both Yui and Marina in that band. "My Soul, Your Beats" rock version was also sung by LiSA! With the major success of the series itself, of course, LiSA got a major boost. Sword Art Online's "crossing field" and even Fate/Zero's "Oath Sign" were all songs under her belt. Pretty good, yeah? Her contribution has allowed her to become well received outside of Japan, especially at Anime conventions. Her career is one I'm looking forward to watching from here on out.

Now onto the feature song! You thought I was never gonna get to it, huh? Instead of featuring a song from a well known song, I decided to go with different song off her newest album: LOVER "S" MILE. Why this happy song? I was just in the mood for a happy song. It was also one of the very few live performances I found floating around YouTube. I took a liking to it very much; it was also the very first time I heard so many men screaming/singing such a happy and girly song. It was quite cute/funny/weird to watch. If you ever manage to see the video, you'll know what I mean. Her fan base seems to contain a large number of very dedicated male followers. Good for her! She's cute. I don't blame them. Seriously.
