#wild lizard

So my cat brought me a lizard today.

I thought he killed it but it was only playing dead. It ended up running towards my foot before disappearing.

I went and continued on my day before taking a seat on the couch.

After a few minutes, something moved under my ass.

I stood up and

THIS GUY WAS UNDERNEATH ME

I believe he crawled up my leg when running away without me realizing.

Turns out it’s a Western Fence Lizard. Also called a Blue Belly. Ricky (my cat) did injure him, but it’s for the most part okay.

Very pretty. Indeed is a male due to the bright colors.

I kinda wanna keep him ngl.

Gonna try and get an enclosure.

Hopefully his wounds aren’t too bad.

Saturday night was chilly (I was in California and it was in low 50s) so we were hanging out near my dad’s fire pit.

This smol friend decided to join us and warm up a bit.

I also make friends with the little wild lizards locally.  No, I did not try and pick up or touch the lizard. He wandered up to my hand, booped me, and scuttled off.

Hammond PD Hunt Down 5 Foot Monitor Lizard

May 26, 2015-Hammond Police responded to the 6300 block of Jackson Street earlier today after residents saw a wild monitor lizard on the loose. A caller told police she saw a very large alligator type animal was in her yard and went after her kids. Police captured the animal and then attempted to locate the owner.

Hammond Ordinances do not explicitly prohibit the owning of Monitor Lizards…
